My Approach

Every therapist has a different approach to addressing their client’s issues and needs. It is essential for me to create a strong connection with my clients and to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported. I always aim to be encouraging, culturally sensitive, and non-judgmental.

No two people experience the same thing in the same way, and you deserve to have your individual needs met. That’s why I like to put an emphasis on collaboration to find the best therapeutic experience specifically for you

Therefore, you’ll find that I ask a lot of questions during each session. I want to get to know you better so I can more effectively help you explore the various themes and patterns in your life that brought you here. This is how I will provide you with unique insights to help you explore and reflect upon your experiences in a productive way.

Additionally, we’ll work together to identify your strengths and help you uncover resources to increase your coping, self-efficacy, and resilience. I also bring wit and light-heartedness to our sessions together, as humor helps us break away from the rigid hold our negative emotions can have on us to provide some relief.

I draw upon a range of evidence-based modes of therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness, along with interpersonal, client-centered, and trauma-informed interventions. Additionally, I have been trained in and offer a powerful mind-body therapy called Brainspotting, which assists clients with processing difficult emotions/trauma & reduces or resolves distressing thoughts and feelings. I will tailor my therapeutic interventions based on your individual needs and life circumstances.
